Spawned on the 23rd of October, 1980, in Hexham, Northumberland, Lee is a native of the North-East of England. He grew up in the town of Ponteland (rather, he got old there - the 'grown up' part is a matter for debate), barring four years away at Keele University, Staffordshire. Currently, Lee lives the town of Chippenham, in the West Country.
In his years, Lee has attended Ponteland County First School, Ponteland Coates Endowed Middle School (now the Richard Coates Church of England Middle School), Ponteland County (now Community) High School and the same school's Sixth Form until he was 18.
Lee has a Master' s degree in Computer Science and Astrophysics from Keele University, which he graduated from in 2003.
In the Autumn of 2003, Lee started work as a software engineer at a small high - tech startup - early in 2004 he completed the realisation of his dream by moving to the West Country, occupying a house of his own.
If asked to describe himself in one word, Lee will respond with "geek". He's proud to wear the label and has dedicated his life to proving that one can be a geek and cool at the same time.
His geek passions include playing computer games (NOT video/console games, which he regards very lowly) - mostly first-person shoot ' em ups, real - time strategy and role - playing games. He loves to program, creating applications and software systems for fun and profit in his spare (and, sometimes, paid) time. He is interested in all aspects of computer technology, chiefly networks and the Internet - having maintained websites since 1996.
He enjoys listening to music (usually rock and metal), writing and reading - technical manuals, works of sci-fi and fantasy fiction, computer magazines and, typically, anything he can get his hands on.
While he does enjoying hanging out with friends, he's not the sociable type - take him to the pub and he'll usually just sit and listen to his peers, thinking about the game he'll play when he gets back.
He's also one of the only people in the world to have completed his final year of University and only went out THREE times.
Don't let that fool you, though - Lee asserts that he is friendly, witty and genuinely fun to be around.
He doesn't like 70s or 80s music, pop music, pop punk, R&B, rap or hip-hop in any shape or form. He doesn 't watch TV and doesn' t appreciate being associated with Byker Grove by those not from around here.
He likes black things, watching the sun rise, flowers, grass, trees, beaches, oceans, seas, forests, deserts and cityscapes. And geek toys. Despite all this, he asserts that he is, in fact, hardcore.
